North Texas Film Critics Association Announces this year’s winners

DALLAS – And the winners are….The North Texas Film Critics Association (NTFCA) announced today the winners in each of the organization’s 13 voting categories for 2025. NTFCA announced the five nominations in each category last week with membership voting for one final winner in each of the categories last Friday.

“The choices this year were diverse and no one film dominated the winner’s categories,” said NTFCA President Rita Cook. “In the first round of voting members sent in their top five picks per category and it was a large and varied group of nominees. Members then voted on their final choice of winners from the top five in each category.”

Anora won Best Picture, but on the heels of that win were both Sing Sing and Dune Part 2, both tied very closely for second place. Anora also saw a win in the Best Actress category with Mikey Madison.

Sing Sing’s Colman Domingo was only a few votes short to win in the Best Actor category but Adrien Brody, The Brutalist was alongside him. Both lost to Timothée Chalamet for his performance in A Complete Unknown.

There was a tie for Best Foreign Language Film with both The Seed of the Sacred Fig (Germany) and Flow (Latvia) winning in that category. Flow was also very popular in the Animated Film category, but did not take the lead from the Wild Robot.

Also worth mentioning, the GARY MURRAY AWARD (Best Ensemble), Saturday Night took that win. Conclave and Sing Sing were also recognized by the members with the latter film standing out since a number of the movie roles were men playing themselves, based on a true story.
